9 Month Check-Up
I brought Sydney to the pediatrician for her 9 month check-up even though she is already 10 months old. Drum roll please.....She weighed in at 23 pounds and is 30 inches long. The doctor said she has the stats of an average 14 month old! I guess that explains why she is hungry all the time and wants nothing more to do with baby food.

Sydney is on the move!
Sydney has been doing her backward scoot for a while now but yesterday she crawled for the first time! She crawled for a little bit in our living room and then crawled right out of her room before bedtime. I sent Steve in the cellar to find our baby gates. She's already going after the electrical chords, chairs, and, of course, food.
We're still waiting for a tooth to break through. We had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago when Sydney's daycare called up saying she had a fever and was rubbing behind her ear. Luckily she didn't have an ear infection and the doctor thought it she was just teething.
I've been attempting to potty train Lucas and some days are more successful than others. It all depends on what kind of mood Lucas is in that day. It will be nice having only one kid in diapers but I know a potty trained kid brings along other challenges.
Here are some photos from the past few months:

Lucas wanted nothing to do with the Easter Bunny so this is the closest he came.

Lucas takes riding a Bobcat very seriously at the Children's Museum.

Updates...Finally
My little girl weighed more than 20 pounds at her 6 month checkup! She keeps popping out her clothes. But, I guess if you had to pop out of clothes the only cute age to do so would be under 5!
Lucas had his third birthday party in January. If you ask him what his favorite part of the day was, I'd bet he's answer "cake!"
Sydney is sitting up and is starting to put everything into her mouth. I'm trying to keep a close eye on Lucas so one of his "tools or pirates" doesn't end up in Sydney's mouth. I have to admit Lucas is really sweet to his sister. If she is upset I'll ask him to sing or talk to her. I'll come back in the room and he is singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to her. Of course, Syd, is just enamoured by her big brother. I wonder if and when that will change.
Lucas and I have been spending some quality time together by going to a music class. I've been spending so much time with Sydney that often Lucas gets left out. I hired a babysitter to watch Syd while Lucas and I take this class together. He absolutely loves it and I love spending time with my son! Maybe he'll be the next American Idol? Don't you think America would vote for that face?

He also loved playing with Theo and Eli!

Birthday and Christmas
We like to do everything in a week in the Pevznamian household. Lucas' birthday is December 22, my birthday is December 24, and, of course, Christmas is December 25. Needless to say the week was crazy. Lucas just expected presents everyday and played non stop for days.
