Polar Express

The family and some friends decided to visit Santa while taking the Polar Express. The Ecotarium held their Winter Wonderland event where kids enjoyed Mrs. Claus reading the Polar Express. After the story we took a train ride to see Santa! Lucas was so excited to see his buddy and tell him he wanted Spiderman for Christmas. The elves even gave us cookies and cocoa! It was a great day for the kids and the adults!

Thanksgiving

It's better late than never, so here are some pictures from Thanksgiving. The kids had a blast eating tons of good food and my friend, Andy, from England also enjoyed our American holiday.  A big thanks to Myra and dad for hosting the feast!

Halloween

Despite the hurricane we were very lucky in Framingham to only have minimal damage. The kids were able to trick or treat!

Halloween Party

While we're awaiting the arrival of Hurricane Sandy, I thought I'd update the blog.

We had our annual Halloween Party last weekend with beautiful weather!  It poured the day before and the morning of the party and suddenly the sun came out.  We enjoyed several treats plus a haunted house (which is now crushed by a tree down thanks to the hurricane), pirate ship, and ball pit.  Plus we played some games to entertain the little ones.

Ovarian Cancer 5k

Every year we run the Ovarian Cancer 5k in South Boston in honor of my mom.  Steve and I have not missed a year since 2001.  This year we had a great bunch of friends join us despite the drizzly weather.  Due to a computer glitch Steve actually came in first for the 60-89 age category.  Steve told him he wasn't quite that old yet but actually came in third in his age group (20-29 of course). He was pushing over 60 pounds of love also known as our children.  Great job Steve!

I also was lucky enough to chaperone my first field trip as a parent.  I've been on countless field trips as a camp counselor or a teacher but it was quite a different experience going with Lucas.  I has such a blast with the 3 and 4 year olds picking apples.  They take such joy in the simplest things and remind you what's important in life!

Busy Summer

The summer has been flying by way too fast.  At the beginning of the season Lucas had a touch of Pneumonia and Sydney had a high fever (due to teething). Lucas' sickness is long gone but poor Sydney seems to keep getting new teeth daily.

We went on our first family vacation to Story Land! Lucas absolutely loved it and Sydney got dragged along but she liked it too. Steve and I were a bit hesitant since all 4 of us shared one hotel room. The one drawback was Lucas would not sleep without us in the room. So Steve and I ended up going to bed around 9 for a few nights. But on a positive note that was the most sleep we've gotten in a while!

We also had our friend, Jenn, take some professional photos of our family and Holly's family.  The came out fantastic!  Here are just a few:

Butterfly Birthday Party

We celebrated Sydney's birthday was a butterfly themed party in our backyard.  We were a bit nervous at first since it downpourd all night and into the early morning hours.  Luckily, the sun shone through and it ended up being a fantastic day!
Daddy and Lucas enjoying the day!
Eli is sneaking kisses with his little cousin.
Syd and Uncle Nate playing in the house.
I think she enjoyed the cake :)
Then we tried a snow cone.  Think she liked that too!
 Messy face

She enjoyed opening presents but I think Lucas enjoyed it more!
My neighbor made this flower centerpiece and I added the butterfly lolipops.
