For those of you not living in New England here is some perspective on how much snow we've gotten.

Lucas' 2nd Birthday Party

You would think after having 3 snow days over the past 2 weeks that I would've been able to update this blog sooner. Oh well. Lucas enjoyed his "tool" themed party with some close friends and family.

Here is a picture of the cake. Unfortunately, I messed up the cake on Friday night so poor Steve went out and bought one. I was bummed because I wanted to make Lucas' cake. We added the tools to go with the theme. And, Lucas didn't care. All he tasted was sugar so it didn't matter to him who made it.

As you can see Lucas enjoyed it!

I even bought gummy tools just to go along with the theme!

Our friend, Jenn, happens to be a professional photographer. We were lucky enough to have her take these pictures at the party. She posted a few on Facebook and someone from Boston Parents Magazine noticed them. They want to use a picture of Lucas in their next issue! I will post when it is published. Maybe Lucas can be a model and support his parents?

The Powell Family Visits

We had a nice family visit from Holly and her family last week. Here are some pics from the chaos.

I love this picture of Theo!

Here are various pictures of the kids stealing food from one another.

Renaming the blog?

For those of you who haven't heard yet, Lucas wants to tell you something.

Should I rename the blog to Pevznamian babies? Technically Lucas isn't a baby anymore and there is only one baby coming (the ultrasound proved that). I have until June to figure it out!

Lucas meet Santa

Donna and I took Lucas to meet Santa yesterday. I really hadn't talked to Luke about Santa too much so I was curious to see what he would do. Well this is what he did.

It was probably my fault because I just plopped Lucas on Santa's lap and walked away. He might have thought I was leaving him with this old guy in a red suit.

I sat with him for the next picture.
As you can see, this one was a lot better. Happy holidays!

Lucas is 2!

Today is Lucas' 2nd birthday! I can't believe it has been two years already. It seems like yesterday that Steve was telling me to go back to bed because I "just ate something funny."

We gave Lucas a tool bench in the morning. He must have loved it because he didn't eat any breakfast which is highly unusual for my boy.

We celebrated a bit more once we got home. He thoroughly enjoyed his cupcake and opening more presents. He kept walking around saying "2." But, he could have been saying that because he wanted 2 cupcakes!

Thanksgiving

Lucas enjoyed his second Thanksgiving. Do you know what he liked the best? It wasn't the turkey or the cranberries or the stuffing. The kid loved Steve's homemade squash/carrot soup. He sucked it down like there was no tomorrow. He also liked the apple pie with vanilla ice cream but that's a given.

Other than enjoying stuffing his face Lucas has been giving us a run for our money. A few weeks back Steve went out at night and I was in the shower. After getting out of the shower, I hear "mama." I told Lucas to go back to bed and I would see him in the morning. Then I heard the door knob rattle. Umm...Steve was out and Lucas was supposed to be in his crib. I opened the door to find Lucas standing there. I swiftly put him back in his crib and told him to go to sleep. Needless to say he climbed out of his crib 2 other times that night. Luckily, Steve is is handy and the next night Steve put on a crib tent to curb this behavior. It has worked and he hasn't climbed out since! I know some people put their kids in a crib as soon as they crawl out but we felt he wasn't ready. We're going to keep him in his crib for as long as possible. So far, it has worked.

Can you believe Lucas will be 2 next month? Geesh! Where does the time go?
